We’re all big Harry Potter fans in our house, my favourite is still the Philosopher’s Stone. The rest of the family however, prefer the later books, but we can all agree that the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London is the ultimate day out for any HP fan.

We’ve visited twice, both times at Christmas time during Hogwarts in the Snow. The studio transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with snow-dusted Diagon Alley, a festive Great Hall, and Hogwarts Castle covered in magical snow.

How to Get to Harry Potter Studios
By Train & Shuttle
Take a train to Watford Junction
From London Euston takes around 20 minutes.
Then hop on the official Warner Bros. shuttle bus (15 minutes) to the studio.
By Car
- Sat Nav: WD25 7LR.
Free parking is available for ticket holders. Show your booking reference to the attendant.
By Tour Bus from London
Many private tour buses depart central London directly to the studio, which is convenient for families or groups.

Plan 4–6 hours to explore everything.
Families with young children may want closer to 6 hours.
Bring comfortable shoes — there’s a lot of walking!

Fun fact: The snow on Hogwarts Castle is applied by the original film special effects team.

Hundreds of glass bottles, bubbling cauldrons, and moving spoons create a realistic potions classroom.

Hogwarts Express – Platform 9¾
Walk through the train carriages and see iconic film scenes. Plus, you must have a photo pushing the trolley in the wall at the station.
Diagon Alley
Colourful, with a dusting of snow on the cobbles and shopfronts. Peek into Ollivanders Wand Shop and Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.
Hogwarts Castle Model
A 360° ramp lets you admire every detail. Snow during Hogwarts in the Snow makes it even more magical.
