There’s nothing more magical than gliding across the ice on a crisp winter’s day, surrounded by sparkling lights, festive music and the smell of hot chocolate in the air. Whether you’re planning a family day out, a festive date night or some fun with friends, there are plenty of Christmas ice skating rinks in Somerset to choose from this year.

North Somerset Ice Rinks
Where: Marine Parade, Weston-Super-Mare BS23 1BE
When: Closed for 2025-26 Season.
- Each skate session is 45 minutes
- Entry to the Tropicana is FREE to spectate and to enjoy the facilities.
- Skate Aids are available for £5 for children under 1.4m on a first come first served basis. These can only be booked on the day prior to your session from the box office or skate aid collection point.
- Skate Hire is included for FREE with your ice skating ticket.
2024 Price: Book a day or more in advance for cheaper tickets and a FREE PARKING voucher. Plus no booking fees! Child (12 and under) £10/£11.50; Adult (13+) £12/£13.50; Family of 4 £40/£46. Parent/Toddler sessions – Toddler (under 5) goes free. Santa Skate £12/£13.50.
Get your skates on the the UK’s largest undercover winter ice rink at The Tropicana in Weston super Mare. There will also be rides, and festive food and drink stalls alongside the ice rink. It’s a top choice for Somerset ice skating 2025.

Festive Ice Skating in and around Bath
Where: Royal Pavilion, Royal Victoria Park, Bath, BA1 2NR
When: Friday 14th November 2025 – Sunday 4th January 2026.
Price: Adult £16.00, Child (12 and under) £13.50, Teen/Concession £15.00, Family of 4 £50.50, + booking fee £2. Skate Aids £5.00.
Back for the festive season 2025, Bath on Ice is a Winter Wonderland right in the centre of Bath. There’s twinkling lights, festive music, a cosy alpine bar and seasonal drinks to get you in the mood for Christmas. It’s a top choice for family ice skating in Somerset.
Situated in Victoria Park, you’ll find Glow Golf next door – a glow-in-the-dark adventure golf course decked out with fairy lights. Plus, Bath Christmas Market is only a short walk away.
NEW for 2025 is the Christmas Tree Maze. Step into the magic of the Christmas Tree Maze, a cosy labyrinth of twinkling evergreens. Enjoy with a hot chocolate in hand.

The 300 square meters of glittering real ice is waiting for you at Avon Valley this festive season. Spin into the night with special lighting effects. Spectators are free and you only pay to skate! Suitable for the youngest beginner through to seasoned skaters looking to show off their skills.

- Skating aids are available to hire for £5 each
Get your skates on at the Clarks Village outdoor, under cover ice rink! This enchanting ice rink is a stunning winter wonderland where you can soak up the glittering atmosphere, show off your skating skills and make some memories!
As well as the regular sessions, you can also book quiet sessions, parent and toddler sessions and disco night sessions.
Enjoy a bite to eat or a warming drink before or after your session at the restaurant.

Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland Ice Rink and Ice Walk will be set within the beautiful grounds of Cardiff Castle against the backdrop of the Norman Keep. The undercover 40m x 15m ice rink, with the 150m Ice Walk, is suitable for all ages and abilities. Accessible sessions are available every Wednesday afternoon between 13:30 – 14:30.
Discover the much-loved undercover ice-rink and Ice Walk, the Big Wheel and family funfair, not to mention the seriously cool Ice Bar, Alpine ski-lodge bar, Sur la Piste. Plus, there’s festive food and drink stalls and a whole host of other attractions for you to enjoy.

The incredible festive Outdoor Ice Rink is returning to Gloucester Quays this winter. So, get your skates on and glide into the festive season, skate under the stars with your loved ones, whilst soaking in the stunning historic docks. Make a day of it and visit the National Waterways Museum and high street and top brand outlet stores.
There’s a delicious selection of festive refreshments to tempt you alfresco and the locomotive train is serving an array of festive street food from mulled wine to hotdogs.
The Christmas Market is every weekend from Saturday 8th November 2025 – Sunday 21st December 2025.
