The Zombie Outbreak is coming! Your help is needed this Halloween to join Mendip Activity Centre’s Zombie Outbreak Response Team. Choose your weapon from axes, bows and rifles. Are you brave enough?

Join in the fang-tastic fun day out in the beautifully autumnal setting of ‘Ninesprings’. Pick up a trail leaflet from the frightful ‘Friends of Yeovil Country Park’ stall (opposite Ninesprings Café) anytime between 11 am – 2 pm and follow the pumpkin markers through the eerie woods. Find the missing letters hidden at several marked stops along the way to help craft a spell.
 
At the end of the trail you will find a witch or a wizard, be sure to tell them the missing word so they can cast their spell to conjure up a prize.
 
A buggy friendly/little legs short route will be available and clearly signposted. 
 
The trail takes around one hour to complete and the last entry will be at 2 pm.

Sleuthing Aboard the Ship! at Fleet Air Arm Museum

Step aboard the Aircraft Carrier Experience this October Half Term and join a thrilling naval mystery adventure like no other!

This halloween, something suspicious is afoot among the crew…visitors of all ages are invited to become shipboard sleuths as they explore the decks, meet costumed characters, and uncover hidden clues to solve a murder. Can you piece together the evidence and solve the case before the ship leaves port?

With twists, turns, and secrets in every corner, this interactive event promises fun, intrigue, and hands-on history for the whole family.

Halloween at the Station – Join for an atmospheric Halloween Train ride at Midsomer Norton. There will be Halloween activities and the shop and buffet will be open. Train tickets are Half Day Rovers so cover travel on as many trains as you like.

The Pumpkin Rolling event is back again this October Half Term. Purchase a pumpkin, carry it to the top lawn and get rolling. After the kids have had their turn, it’s yours to enjoy a seasonal tradition in the picturesque grounds of the Abbey. The goal is seeing whose  pumpkin rolls the furthest. Once you have had your fun you can take it home for Halloween.

Taking inspiration from the mythical dragon perched on the museum roof, craft your very own dragon egg of lore: glimmering with shiny stones and shaped from air-dry clay. Take it home that same day.

Afterwards, follow the dragon trail through the museum to uncover tales of Somerset’s dragons, enjoy dragon-themed crafts and imagine your own tale of the poison-spitting beast or nightmarish monster within your gleaming egg.

Once a fiery catalyst of labour, the museum’s brick kiln is one of the last remaining in Somerset, now a relic of the past past, the perfect setting for crafting rare and fabled dragon eggs.
